Working without a base
On location there's no fixed socket, no controlled light and no table always free. This changes the priorities: battery life and speed of use count more than any feature, because a discharged device in the middle of a trial is a tool that isn't there.
Light is the second problem. Photographing under hotel light, in a church or outdoors produces images that aren't comparable with one another, and comparability is precisely what a trial needs in order to be useful on the day.
The use that pays for itself is documenting the trial: products, quantities, order of application and the result photographed under a stated light. It's what lets you reproduce on the day what was agreed weeks before.
